Pastor Rebecca Medina,
affectionately known as Pastor Becky, is a fourth generation Christian. She is the oldest daughter to Josue and Damaris Rivera. She and her siblings, Giselle, Diane Elyse and Josue Daniel were born and raised in a Christian family amidst ministry. A tranquil and obedient child, Pastor Becky always participated in the church activities. She was an outstanding student and excelled in her education. She was gifted in learning and teaching, and from early on she knew this is what she wanted to do. She attended St. John’s University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and shortly after received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood. Since graduating, she has worked as an elementary school teacher at South Huntington School District. Like her husband, Pastor Becky also graduated from the Spanish Eastern District Bible Institute and she desires to finish a degree in Theological studies.After becoming a member of Elohim Christian Church in 1990, Pastor Becky served as a youth leader, as a VBS leader, in the Missions department, preaching, and teaching in Sunday School as well as in Bible Institute.
On May 4, 1996, Pastor Becky married Pastor Carlos Medina and she has worked side by side with him since. Today they are raising their beautiful girls: Eden Marie, Rachel Grace, and Emma Faith. Her ministry today continues to grow and her teaching and counsel are coveted and essential in our church.
